Sleep Disorders Symptoms

Signs of sleep disorders in children can include a variety of symptoms, such as mouth breathing, restless sleep, excessive sweating at night, restless leg syndrome, etc. but the main symptoms are:
Frequent snoring (3+ nights/week) or gasping sounds often indicate breathing interruptions.
Fragmented sleep occurs when the body briefly wakes up to reset breathing throughout the night.
This often appears as morning grogginess, falling asleep during short car rides, or general irritability.
In children, sleep deprivation can mimic ADHD, showing up as impulsivity or difficulty focusing.

Why Sleep Disorders in Children Should Be Detected Early?

Untreated sleep disorders can affect your child’s growth, behavior, and long-term health. Sleep disorders are linked to difficulty concentrating, hyperactivity, lower academic performance, and even cardiovascular and metabolic issues.

When detected early, effective treatments exist that are painless and non-surgical, helping children breathe and sleep better without invasive procedures.

Clinical Report Insights

Get a complete picture of your childʼs sleep health. hinlab captures reliable physiological data to provide clinicians and parents with validated, actionable insights.

Extensive Oxygen Analysis

We detect specific oxygen drops and calculate the Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI), which measures 3% SpO2 dips per hour. By providing these advanced statistics, we give you and your healthcare provider a clearer understanding of your child's nightly oxygen patterns.

Physician Review

Every report is reviewed by a Board-Certified Sleep Doctor who assesses if the oximetry data is normal or abnormal in the context of your childʼs specific symptoms and provides targeted recommendations for follow-up.

Hypoxic Burden

This advanced metric quantifies the total "dose" of low oxygen by measuring the severity, depth, and duration of desaturation events.

McGill Oximetry Score

A pediatric-specific 4-level system used to grade the severity of oxygen desaturation clusters.
Data Channels
Photoplethysmography (PPG), Pulse Rate, Pulse Oximetry (SpO2), and 3-Axis Actigraphy (Movement).
Oxygen Saturation Metrics
SpO2 statistics and Time spent below critical thresholds
(<92%, <90%, <85%, <80%).
Respiratory and Oximetry Markers
Number and duration of oxygen desaturation events, Oxygen Desaturation Index (ODI 3%), Hypoxic Burden, and the McGill Oximetry Score.
Pulse Rate Metrics
Pulse Rate statistics and Time spent in Bradycardia/Tachycardia.

The results will include key clinical sleep metrics like ODI (Oxygen Desaturation Index) and hypoxic burden, among others.
