Screen at home first. Refer to the sleep lab when it counts.
A 3-night pediatric sleep screen your patients do at home. The report comes to you in days, not months.

The evidence
Who the hinlab Sleep Test is for, and when to consider PSG

Consider it for
Children ages 28 days to 12 years when sleep-disordered breathing is suspected. Indicators include habitual snoring, nighttime gasping or labored breathing, and daytime behavior or attention concerns. The Sleep Test may also provide helpful information before tonsillectomy or after surgery if symptoms persist.

Go straight to PSG when
A definitive diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea is needed, or when the child’s symptoms, medical history, or clinical presentation call for comprehensive in-lab evaluation. hinlab is a screening tool, not a replacement for polysomnography (PSG).
